Fairy Bricks - Lego sets for a good cause

Fairy Bricks is an amazing charity which uses Lego sets for a fantastic cause. But they need your help, especially now!

Fairy Bricks is a charity with the simple purpose of bringing some joy to children who are suffering. This joy is brought to them through LEGO. Regular readers of the eduKidz blog and visitors to our store will notice we have a thing for LEGO, therefore this particular charity and a recent news story struck a chord in our hearts.

Working with children's hospices and hospitals Fairy Bricks donates LEGO sets to children with the aim of brightening their lives. However, in mid November, just before they began their Christmas campaign their van was broken into by thieves. 2000 sets were stolen meaning 2000 opportunities to bring happiness to sick children could be lost.

Fairy Bricks Van - broken into :(

To help combat this loss there are two ways we can all help:

Option 1 - Donate directly to Fairy Bricks to soften the blow at their giving site

Option 2 - Take part in the #BuildToGive campaign run by LEGO themselves

The #BuildToGive campaign is designed to allow get you using your creativity and imagination to design the greatest LEGO Christmas decorations! These could be decorations to hang on the tree, adorn the shelves or act as a grand centre piece for your dining table. Wherever they go LEGO wants to see them.

For every entry including the hashtag #BuildToGive LEGO will gift a whole set to a local children's hospital. They have pledged to give up to 20,000 sets nationwide! So it's time to get building!

Make sure to share your creations on social media and tag eduKidz in your posts too. We love to see your creations and we'll feature the best ones we see!
